Dustin The Way was the ace of the staff for the DQ Williams Kennel for over a year. Each and every time he went to post he brought his A game and most of the time it was good enough for the win. He was a joy to watch run as he could go to the lead or come from off the pace and win. He would do what ever needed to be done to post up a victory and you could never count him out of any race. He ended his career with 69 victories and finished in the money in 122 of his 153 starts. Dustin was voted to the All-American team in 2004 as he won the Clay County Classic, set the track record at the Orange Park Kennel Club, prevailed late for the victory in Night of Stars XIII and finished fourth in the Mayor’s Cup. Fans will remember him as an explosive threat that would do anything to post up a win. I’ll remember him as one of the very best that I have ever seen run. |
