Get Over was as hard a trying greyhound that the Jacksonville Racing Circuit has ever seen. Get Over was tenacious on the front end and if he wasn’t there, he would do everything in his power to get there. His best season came in 2001 where he made the finals of four stake events and posted up wins in two of those efforts. In April he won the JGR Juvenile, in May he raced in the All Star Preview, in August he won the Mayor’s Cup and in November he made the finals of the Clay County Classic. Get Over also had success outside of the circuit as he finished 4th in the finals of the Hollywood World Classic in 2002. His career record in stakes events was an impressive 24-9-6-1-4. Since retiring this 60 race winner has been a productive stud for the DQ Williams Kennel. Several of his offspring have run in grade A and stakes races and two have even won stakes titles. People on the Jacksonville Racing Circuit will remember Get Over as the blue collar, working man’s kind of greyhound that gave his best in each and every effort that he raced in. |
