Just Kickin It was a master of the turn and burn to the 1st turn. He could hit the lid like no ones business and once he was in front he was very, very tough to run down. Kickin It also excelled during stakes competition as he won 8 of the 15 races that he was entered into and only missed the money on two occasions, both coming in the final round race. His best year was 2003 as he won 37 races for the year including a stakes title with a win in the 2003 Mayor’s Cup, and victories in 14 of 15 races including a run of 10 straight. For all his hard work he was voted as a second team All-American in 2003. Kickin It was a rail greyhound that could run from any post, because he had the lead in almost all of his races. But when he started from the red blanket, everyone better take notice. Over two racetracks he won 15 of 17 career starts when wearing the red blanket, 8 of 9 came on the Jacksonville Racing Circuit. Here the things the fans around the circuit remember most about him was his early speed. He could leave good early speed greyhounds in his wake from the starting box, and drive the lure away from them for fun in any race. For his career I guess we know what he was Kickin. |
